Here at the Piano Shop Bath we are always looking to take on new and interesting restoration and customisation projects. We’re delighted to share with you a recent one we’ve worked on.

Our customer was inspired by the famous Challen piano at Abbey Road studios – known for its distinctive sound, it features in the works of some very famous artists including The Beatles and Pink Floyd. They wanted a similar model to be fully restored and hand painted with a Beatles theme.

With the help of talented designer Charlotte Macmillan, and the skills of experienced scene and props painters Alice Bogaerde and Thea von-Mantripp, we settled on a bright and funky design by Charlotte, based on the iconic Yellow Submarine film.

We’re really happy with how it turned out. We hope it brings our customer as much joy and inspiration as the original Abbey Road Challen.
