Piano Review – Painted Piano John Broadwood Piano In Farrow and Ball Stiff Key Blue

Reviewing any restored piano is always interesting as restored pianos seem to posses their very own distinctive characters and personalities. This restored 1930s John Broadwood upright is no exception and has huge personality. Produced in England during the 1930s by the world’s oldest piano manufacturers this diminuitive upright piano comes with plenty of history and charm.  The beautiful Farrow and Ball painted cabinet ensures it has stage presence but this restored upright piano doesn’t just look good, it also plays very nicely.

Tone and Touch

The action on this piano is nicely balanced and responsive, allowing for full expression and good dynamic range. The tone is  well rounded and warm and does say something about the quality of its production,  particularly pleasing to hear are the clear, strong tones of the treble. This upright piano would take you easily to Grade 7 standard in great style. More advanced pianists might be better suited to a higher level upright piano, like the Kawai k300 or kawai k500, when the repertoire demands a more exacting instrument. For the rest of us, this John Broadwood painted piano has a lot to recommend it, not only is it eye catching and unique, it plays very well too.

This is definitely one piano you will not find anywhere else!  worth a visit to our showroom to try, if you would like any more information regarding the John Broadwood upright painted piano or any of our other pianos call us on 01225 427961.
