John Broadwood & Sons began producing pianos in 1808 in London and quickly became well established. They held a Royal Warrant and supplied numerous instruments to members of the royal family over the centuries.

This piano has been refinished by Glenn Mason using vegetable-tanned leather. He has used the best vegetable-tanned leather, which has a low environmental impact and is the most sustainable option compared to chemically enhanced chrome leathers. This natural process, used since the time of the Egyptians, maintains a low environmental impact by avoiding machinery, with everything being handmade and hand-stitched.

This piano has a responsive medium action and produces a warm, resonant tone across the registers
